Overview - This course addresses topics related to the evaluation methods of health information systems. The main objectives are: to understand the need and the difficulty of assessing health information systems, as well as the different perspectives and needs assessment; acquire notions of how to evaluate and select the different valuation models applicable to Medical Informatics (MI); understand basics of evaluation methodology; describe different types of studies, their applications and limitations; describe the different steps for the development or adaptation and evaluation of a measuring instrument; acquire notions about preparing a study proposal and know the process of its planning, acquiring experience in the preparation and reporting of the results of an assessment in MI; gained experience in critical appreciation of evaluation studies in MI.
